At the Maids Head we pride ourselves on being a traditional British family pub. Open all day, every day, child friendly, with plenty of parking. A relaxed, informal place to meet and make friends, with a warm and friendly atmosphere
The premises has been a pub for over 300 years, and is steeped in local history. The building is situated in one of the oldest streets in Mildenhall, the large beer garden being the only surviving part of an ancient apple orchard. Although the building has been extended and changed over the years, the original flint frontage is still visable, and many old features add to the charactistic and charming interior.
We serve a range of traditional English real ales, as well as lagers, ciders, wines and spirits, & a selection of soft drinks and fresh tea an coffee.
Jim and Sandie Watt came to the Maids Head at the begining of 2008. Having spent thier whole lives in Mildenhall, they could see the potential in the Maids Head, and set about returning it to being a traditional British pub. They love to talk to thier customers, making new friends, and finding out what they want from the pub.
Under the direction of Jim & Sandie, the Maids Head has become a lively friendly place to socialise, with a great atmosphere. The pub may be their home, but they also feel it should have a comfortable homely feel for all their customers.
Jim is also extremelly proud that he has recently been accepted into the Greene King 'Head Brewers Club'. This required proving over a period of time that all our 'real ales' are correctly stored, and served, ensuring that they are enjoyed by the customer exactly as the 'Head Brewer' of the brewery intends.
So, when you need a family friendly pub, night out or beer garden to relax in, remember The Maids Head. All our contact details are on the right, and the 'Find Us' page has a map.
Hope to see you soon.
